Full Stack SEO

What exactly is a full stack marketer? The phrase “full stack marketing” comes from the name of “full stack developers”, who are website developers. Full stack developers are able to code not only the back end of a website, but also the front-end of a website, as well. They have enough experience doing both, so they’re referred to being able to do the “full stack” of web development. When it comes to marketing, in particular, there are not a lot of full stack marketers, though. I am one of the few who really is a full stack marketer, though. I have enough experience, after doing website marketing full time since the 1990s, to be able to do it all.

But, better yet, let’s talk about being able to do it all, and why I’m a full stack SEO rather than just being a full stack marketer.

Full Stack SEO: Bill Hartzer

I have always leaned more towards website content, on-page and off-page search engine optimization over the years. However, being in the search marketing industry for so long, I have had the chance to branch out: to perform tasks and on marketing projects that are more than just SEO projects. For example, I have clients that have been with me for years: I personally built their website, wrote their content, set up their Google My Business listing and local presence, and more. That more includes on-page and off-site SEO, as well as setting up and handling (managing) their Facebook and Twitter presence, as well as Instagram. At all hours of the night I’ve responded to messages from their customers and potential customers. I even assisted one of their customers, via Facebook Messenger, to find my customer’s business location because that customer was lost.

As a full stack marketer and a full stack SEO, not only can I handle the SEO part of things–but can also handle what comes with marketing a local business or business online. Like I mentioned on my website’s home page, you can build a website and make it crawlable by the search engines. but, it’s a real full stack marketer who can take it to the next level, to find the right customers via search engines and social media websites.

During a typical engagement with me, if you hire me as your full stack SEO and consultant, you have the option to let me handle the full stack of marketing:

  • Search Engine Optimization, both on-page and off-site
  • Website content and content marketing
  • Paid search campaigns (Google AdWords, Bing ads)
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Paid Social Media Advertising
  • Email Marketing
  • Marketing Automation
  • Influencer Marketing

Types of Full Stack Marketing, Full Stack SEO

There are, in fact, according to some marketing experts, 21 unique parts of Full Stack Marketing. However, I actually think there 25, as a few of them are fairly new. Can you guess which ones are new:

  1. SEO
  2. Copywriting
  3. Paid Advertising
  4. Email Marketing
  5. Social Media
  6. Positioning
  7. InProduct Marketing
  8. Public Relations
  9. Content Marketing
  10. Blogging
  11. Storytelling
  12. Lifecycle Marketing
  13. App Store Marketing
  14. Analytics
  15. A/B Testing
  16. Landing Page Optimization
  17. HTML/CSS/Javascript/Web Dev
  18. Customer Service
  19. Pitching
  20. Distribution
  21. Biz Dev
  22. Influencer Marketing
  23. Outreach Marketing
  24. Inbound Marketing
  25. Persona Research

Well, if you have guessed, and you guessed correctly, then you’re right if you said influencer marketing and outreach marketing. Persona research is something that I’m adding, as well, since many marketers don’t know about it, don’t know how to do it, and don’t include it in their marketing mix.

Not only do you need to have a great website that appeals to your potential customers, you need the marketing engine behind it. How are you going to drive traffic and sales? Full Stack Marketing is the way to go–not only do you need someone who has the experience in all of these areas, you also need someone who can steer you in the right direction.
