The outer ring in the first row of the chart shows the visible labrador retriever coat color with the small upper right circle showing the nose color (black or liver). The inner rings in the first row of the chart show the hidden color genes carried by the labrador retriever. If your labrador retriever is black, the possible gene types are: I, II, III, IV.
If your labrador retriever is chocolate, the possible gene types are: VIII, IX.
If your labrador retriever is yellow with a black nose the possible gene types are: V, VI.
If your labrador retriever is yellow with a liver-colored nose then the gene type VII.

For example, if your results show that your labrador retriever is a Type V, your labrador retriever is a yellow labrador retriever with a black nose and does not carry the hidden genes for the chocolate labrador retriever.
